Fauxnique. So RelevantBy Monique Jenkinson

Underground drag, unfiltered. And well, underground. Two weekends of SF drag legends. NCTC this June.

June 11-13: The hair is high but the morals are low in The Wheelin’ Wagoners’ Rootin’ Tootin’ Hoedown Hootenanny Jamboree, a Cuntry Cabaret, a country-fried, rhinestone-studded comedy spectacular written by and starring drag sensations Mary Vice & Princess Panocha.

June 18-20: Fauxnique. So Relevant is a musical evening of theatrical glamour magic and real-time real talk from the herstory-making lady drag queen and published author whom cabaret legend Justin Vivian Bond called “the Jane Goodall of drag.” Join Fauxnique for stories served up with her signature blend of sardonic wit and soulful vulnerability, and songs curated with a music nerd’s ear for the deep cut. With piano powerhouse Katy Stephan as musical director, and direction from Kevin Clarke, fresh from his triumph with The Goat at Shotgun Players, don’t miss this smash-hit cabaret performance hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as “epic and intimate, a celebration of sequined glamour and soulful authenticity.”
