NCTC is casting a non-AEA actor for the regional premiere of HOW TO MAKE AN AMERICAN SON by Christopher Oscar Peña.

A Madonna concert. Stealing Dad’s credit card. Sounds like a great idea! Teenage Orlando enjoys a lavish and privileged life-thanks to his family’s successful business. But, his Honduran-born father has different ideas of where his hard-earned cash should go. This audacious new comedy dares to ask: who is entitled to privilege?

MERCEDES — Latina woman, 30s. American-born Mexican. Right-hand to Mando and newly promoted general manager. Assertive, efficient, and loyal. Balances professionalism with a maternal sensibility.
All other roles have been cast at a prior audition.

YOUTHAWARE: PUPPY MIND
New Conservatory Theatre Center seeks two non-union actors for Puppy Mind, a touring production for grades K-3 written by Andrew Jordan Nance and directed by Aliya Bacal Peterson. Daytime rehearsals, for this NON-UNION production, begin 9/23/25 at NCTC. Daytime performances at San Francisco Schools are Tuesday through Friday, 10/7-11/7, from 8 am to 1 pm. Transportation will be provided from NCTC to school sites and back. Actors of all gender identities and ethnicities who present as late teens to mid-20s are encouraged to submit. Must be 18 or older. Pay is $2,380 inclusive of rehearsals and performances between 9/23-11/7.
